Abstract

Description

This repository contains the outputs of the SIMPLE-G-global model at 15 arc-min resolution, focusing on various aspects of groundwater conservation. The data includes:

  • Groundwater Withdrawal: Irrigation groundwater extraction across grid cells (pre-policy, post-policy, and percentage changes) .
  • Surface Water Withdrawal: Irrigation surface water withdrawal across grid cells (pre-policy, post-policy, and percentage changes).
  • Land Area: Cropland area across grid cells (pre-policy, post-policy, and percentage changes).
  • Nitrogen Application: Nitrogen fertilizer application across grid cells (pre-policy, post-policy, and percentage changes).
  • Crop Production: Crop production levels across grid cells (pre-policy, post-policy, and percentage changes).

The scenarios are based on the Water Balance Model (WBM) for the reference year of 2015, providing a comprehensive view of the global implications of global groundwater sustainability scenarios.
