Authors are invited to submit full papers and posters to the 2011 symposium. The full papers will be published in the DDAD2011 Symposium Proceedings in Purdue's e-Pubs Repository where they will be freely accessible and citable for research purposes. Authors are highly encouraged to submit their articles according to the guidelines of ASCE Journal of Hydrologic Engineering. With the authors' permission, we intend to have the papers be reviewed for publication in a special issue of the journal.
The full papers should represent original and unpublished work (which is also not submitted elsewhere for review) reporting projects and results on any aspect of droughts, including but not limited to:
- Drought characterization
- Drought assessment
- Droughts and water
- Management of drought related data and metadata
- Impact of droughts on society
- Economic impacts of droughts
- Urban Planning and Visualization
- Drought monitoring (including remote sensing)
- Food safety as impacted by droughts
- Drought impact on homeland security
- Transportation (river traffic)
- Drought communication to informal audiences
- Education
- Impact of droughts on human health
- Impact of droughts on plant health
as well as related technologies. Papers should not exceed 10 pages of text including images and references. Please prepare your paper according to the ACM template (download here).
Submission implies the willingness and ability of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper.
Posters
Authors are also encouraged to submit posters to display at the poster session during the first day of the conference. To submit a poster, authors are requested to submit an abstract only.
Posters should be printed on flexible material (no foam core backing), as they will be mounted by push pins on bulletin boards. The maximum size for posters is 4'x6' (height x width).

Paper and poster submissions are done through EasyChair. You will need to create an account (free) at easychair.org before making a submission. If you have any questions regarding the submission process, you may email drinet at purdue dot edu for help.
